The Adventures of Ben Tennyson, or Ben 10 as it is also known, started back in 2007 on Nickelodeon. The series revolves around the titular protagonist who's a ten-year-old boy who has the power to transform into powerful alien beings. The show features a diverse cast of aliens with unique abilities including the likes of Spidermonkey, Upgrade, and Diamondhead. It was created by Peter David and Mark McCracken and ran for six seasons before ending in 2011. Season 1, 2, 3 and 4 were collected into a complete series DVD boxset called "The Complete First Season", released on 12 August 2010. On September 3, 2011, new animation started being produced for the series. The new version of Ben 10 is set to be released sometime in 2012. It will have a new lead character named Max Tennyson who will have the powers of his father's alien genes from the original series, along with many other new characters and a complete remake of the original show. As of March 2013, it is confirmed that the new Ben 10 series will start off with a movie and then the series. Ben 10: Alien Force (also known as Ben 10: UA (Ultimate Alien) and simply Ben 10 ) was first aired on Cartoon Network on 17 January 2009. It is the sequel/spin-off to "Ben 10" and chronicles the adventures of an older, teenage version of Ben Tennyson as he deals with increasingly more dangerous situations with his alien forms. A part of this show called "Wormhole Xtreme!" was shown in between commercial breaks, live action movies, regular cartoons, advertisements, etc. during the premiere. The show is rated TV-Y7-FV. There are a total of 82 episodes in the series, concluding on 14 September 2010 with "X = Ben + 2". Notably, the very final episode of the series ends with a set up for a second season, which was announced by Cartoon Network in 2011 to be animated instead of live action. It is scheduled to air sometime in 2012. A movie adaptation was scheduled for release on 19 June 2012 but it was postponed to 9 August 2012 and later cancelled due to a leak of two episodes from the film onto YouTube. However, other than these two episodes nowhere else has any part of the movie leaked onto the internet. As of March 2013, it is confirmed that the new Ben 10 series will start off with a movie and then the series.In November 2012, an animated series based on Ultimate Alien was launched. Like the previous version, it features a live-action protagonist who would transform into an alien. Unlike the previous one, this series has a continuation after Legendary Transformers: Earth Wars ends on December 28th, 2017.
