In this post, we explore the most popular Windows 10 versions and explain which is the best choice for you. This post discusses how to download a Windows 10 ISO with a product key, and what versions of Windows 10 are available. The post also provides links to legal downloads of all versions of Windows 10. If you're considering upgrading your computer from one OS to another, but don't want to purchase a new PC or install an OS on your existing system, it's possible to download a free ISO file directly from Microsoft. You can also download an ISO file of Windows 10 for 32-bit or 64-bit versions. However, you must have either an x86 CPU, an x64 CPU, or a virtual machine to install Windows 10 on your computer system. If you don't, see the next section. For Windows 8.1 and Windows 8 users, Microsoft offers free upgrade to Windows 10 through the Upgrade Assistant tool installed by default with Windows 8.1 and previous versions of Windows 8. The tool works if you have a genuine license (a genuine license allows the computer to be upgraded without additional activation). Upgrade Assistant can be downloaded on Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 Pro machines running UEFI firmware. The tool is available for the x64 architectures, so if you have a 32-bit Windows license, you need to upgrade to Windows 8 first. With your computer powered on but not yet booted into Windows, press the power button to start it, then click the Shut Down button when the Start Menu appears. When prompted to choose either shut down or restart your computer, select Restart . Once your PC restarts, press the F12 key to go into Safe Mode with Networking . While in Safe Mode with Networking , look for the Upgrade Assistant icon in the lower-left corner of your screen. Click it to open the application. Click Get Started when the application opens. Click Next on the Getting Ready screen when it appears. Install any updates that appear in the window that pops up, then click Next . Click Accept when you're asked to accept Microsoft's licensing terms. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement , then click Next . Click Sign in once if required to enter your Microsoft account credentials, then enter them again when prompted for confirmation, and click Next . If you don't have an existing Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 license key, select I don't have a product key at this time . Click Advanced options , then click Next . Click Register anonymously if you're prompted to do so, then click Next . If you receive a message that says that your PC needs an upgrade, click Install now . If the computer restarts as expected, close the Upgrade Assistant window, and install Windows 10 from a USB drive if available. If your PC doesn't restart as expected, close the Upgrade Assistant window and run the Microsoft Download Tool to download a Windows 10 64-bit ISO file. Note: The tool may say it cannot find a valid operating system on the target system. In this case, skip steps 8 through 10 and proceed directly below. 8eeb4e9f32 23
